British sailor Ellen MacArthur, now Dame Ellen, was the fastest and youngest (b.1976) person to solo and non-stop circumnavigate the world in 2005, an amazing accomplishment for a diminuitive 5’2″ person of any gender. She was born inland and learned to sail in her mind first from reading books and as a child saved her money for several years in order to obtain her first small sailboat. Hers is a very inspiring story for all girls and women who have the spirit to achieve. And, she is a cutie on top of all that : ) Song: “Boat To Sail” by The Carpenters
