Timelapse of Construction – The Antrim 49 Sailing Yacht, Rapid Transit

This is a timelapse movie of the construction of the Antrim 49 sailing yacht, Rapid Transit, built at Berkeley Marine Center. The hull was built with foam core and carbon fiber construction techniques. The boat was launched in 2009, and has recorded speeds over 30 mph. Approx. one year has been compressed to 10 minutes.

boat launching.AVI

January 14th, 2010, 11 AM This was the first time my boat hit the water. I have been building it since June 2009. This boat is a Devlin Design. The model is “the cackler” and is 14 ft long. It is rated at 30 HP but I only have an 8hp motor for it. I will get a larger one next year. The video is poor quality and the boat looks too far away, but at least it floats! I found it very stable.
