High speed video showing the building of a Bristol Cutter design classic sailingboat built by Mark Rolt at www.bristolclassicboat.co.uk Theboat is due to be launched on May 22nd 2008 at Redcliffe Wharf in Bristol. Theboat will be based in Salcombe in Devon where is will be used to teach sailing to underprivileged children.
This is a timelapse movie of the construction of the Antrim 49 sailing yacht, Rapid Transit, built at Berkeley Marine Center. The hull was built with foam core and carbon fiber construction techniques. Theboat was launched in 2009, and has recorded speeds over 30 mph. Approx. one year has been compressed to 10 minutes.
Vancouver Island Universitys five month Aluminum Boat Building program gives students an excellent hands-on learning experience where they learn all aspects of aluminum fabrication relevant to the West Coast of Canada. The last graduating class of the program built a 40 foot by 12 foot catamaran for the Centre for Shellfish Research and their Deep Bay shellfish research station. Current students are learning to design and build their own boats
