As they say in the video; this guy named many island, but the Norwegian government didn’t care and gave it to Canada.
If you look at a map you can see many rare names.

If that is the case, why is it not mentioned in series or in the book? Are you calling Jarle and the crew liars?
Since when get people deported for a brawl!? And what other 3 are you talking about?
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
lol not!!!

Beer brawl in the midle of tha artic? they culd not have done more beer browls up there so why such an act.
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
They weren’t banned from Canada because they were Hells Angels. They were banned from Canada because 2 of the crew members got into a bar brawl the first time they came to Canada, and so got deported, and then they came back which you aren’t allowed to do after you’ve been deported. The other 3 were implicit in the illegal landing, and therefore they were all deported and banned. If they hadn’t gotten into the first beer brawl, it might never have been a problem.

The Hells Angels (in the US at least) is somewhere between the mafia, and a street gang. Essentially a very large, very organized, and equally violent gang. Wether or not they live up to this reputation now days i don’t know, but thats the one they’ve earned in the past. And the way allot of people see them (not me). And that’s why (probably) the Canadian govt. doesn’t want them in country.

It were in Røros

The Canadians are just jealuse they never did a thing in this world. We all know they where thrown out of the USA
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
…They did however manage to set a litle bit of polar history in modern time by doing somthing that actually hadnt been done befour.
So respect to the crew of berserk and ty for some fine hours of TV.
…..and to the canadiand goverment with the big bad canadian coustguard….WHAT!? was the logic of making such a mess out of such a non threatening situation?
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
This expedition was a wery fun event and i enjoyed it on TV. A BIG shame the canadian coustguard acted the way they did, banning them for life from canada couse one of the crew was a member of hells angels….
I mean….hells angeles is probably somthing alot different over there than it is in norway but it still makes you wonder why they acted like that on one explorer/tourist.

-52C, That is frigging cold!! Tires go flat, all kinds of things break, vehicldes wont start, etc.
Arctic Winter sounds heavenly. The 24 hr nights must be amazing, I wish I could go there now. we’ve had a few blizzard days but hasnt been much below -17C. Yes every one here seems to understand Winter weather is best
THe coldest its ever been where I live is about -32F/-35C, and only in high valleys. That is very rare, once a decade if that.
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
In Iceland, the most I have experienced is -23C, and it didn’t feel cold at all since the air was dry. The humidity is what makes it feel cold and in Iceland it’s almost always humid. In the highlands the frost can go under -30-35 degrees, but it rarely does.
Wet, cold and miserable. That’s Iceland. That’s how I like it.
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
The lowest temperature I have experienced was about – 52 degrees Celsius, (about -61F). But that was not on Svalbard, it was in mid-Norway! On Svalbard it can go down to about -40 degrees Celsius, (= -40F).
May 26th, 2009 at 1:22 am
Its arctic winter on Svalbard now. Completely dark 24 hours a day, lowest temperature so far I guess is around -29 degrees Celsius (about -20F), blizzards, could and dark = PERFECT!

What dos Norwegian do when they are in the middle of arctic surrounded with ice, and face to possibility to have to spend the next 2 years in the middle of nowhere? Arrange a big party of course, get crazy, drink a lot of beer, and have fun! Sounds very familiar.
GO BERSERK! TAKE CANADA!
